Excited About the New Year

The first Monday of the New Year
January 2nd to be exact
Although being exact
Probably isn't important
At least not to me
But maybe
To someone else
Someone who cares
I least more than I care
And I really don't care
On this first Monday of the New Year
As I struggle to get excited
About everything
Or anything
Or maybe
Maybe something
But I'm not sure what
So I'll keep my eyes open
On this first Monday of the New Year
And keep my mind open too
For the opportunities
Of the New Year
And suddenly
I'm excited!
