For some their work is drudgery
Cursing themselves and their bosses
But mostly themselves for poor career choices
With their voices echoing daily in their heads
About the poor choices they have made
Yet, choices they have many times
Again and again, then again
They just don't get it
It all seems a sin
Especially when you take time to think about it
So, first you never give up and you never give in
Yes, you heard me right in that you never, ever quit
That is one of the first rules of true-life survival
No matter what, you never, ever quit, ever
Then you start looking for solutions
Because there is always a solution
Always, always, and always
It isn't really very hard
In fact, it is simple
But you have to work
And that takes a willingness
Along with a big shift in attitude
With the willingness including some time
In fact, probably lots and lots of that infinite thing
That thing that most of us succeed in wasting
Squandering our time much of our lives
So, start by being more effective
You have a brain so use it
Think to the future
Make some plans
Then do it
Get up
Set on your feet
Give your body a treat
Just moving will make you feel neat
And feel the blood flowing as you do something
For sure, it should be something that is productive
Being productive and moving doesn't give you much time
Especially to feel sorry for yourself and to complain
And remember this really simple old adage
That attitude determines your altitude
You can slink around and complain
Or you can soar with the eagles
And so we are back to choices
Our Free Will is a true gift
We really can choose
No time to snooze
Again, get up
Get going
Work can be a joy
And it can be gratifying
So ask yourself why you work
And if you don't like the answer
Then look for a solution and go for it
Don't be a complaining, miserable fool
Consider learning something entirely new
The answer may well be in simply going to school
There is another old adage, but not to be believed
Because you can most certainly teach old dogs
And even better yet, teach them new tricks
Which makes this whole process easy
Because, get this, you are not a dog
So get your hindquarters of the log
Get yourself out of life's bog
Go out for a walk, try a jog
Then stop being a jerk
And get to work
You will love it
