Special Nights and Special Time With You

It is quiet on the home front
You are sitting by the fireplace
Reading one of your professional books
While I am in the office satisfied with life
And satisfied just being under the same roof with you

Maybe it isn't the most ideal form of togetherness
But it seems to be working for the two of us for now
Yes, I would prefer doing some snuggling under the covers
And if I had it my way that is exactly where we would be right now
But that is my one-track romantic mind speaking of what is usually on my mind

Fortunately, all nights are not like this one
Some nights we will watch a movie on Net Flicks
Or occasionally play one of our favorite board games
Sometimes inviting friends over to share a special dessert
And other evenings just taking a moonlight walk in the neighborhood

But for me my vote is for the snuggling
Especially when it involves touching and hugging
Along with tender caresses and long sweet and moist kisses
Ah, those kind of special, infrequent nights are my very most favorites
And perhaps it is the infrequency of such nights that make them so special
