The Mandated Diet

Just back from the doctor
Who says it is time to diet
He says I have no choice
And that I have to try it

My wife says the same
I guess I am to blame
She supports the doc
Which isn't a shock

But I like food
I like to eat
I like food that'd good
I like ice ream and meat

Plus, I like tacos
And I like chips
Give me an avocado
And I'll make a great dip

As I think of this diet
I'm craving cold milk
Along with some cookies
A treat that is as smooth as silk

And what makes it so hard
Is that I love to eat
Midnight crackers and cheese
Are a treat hard to beat

So what to do
I really want to lose weight
I better take care of myself
Before its too late

I want to live long
And make my wife happy
So I guess I will diet
As I grow thin and sappy

So self-control
Is the new name of the game
Bring on the diet
Even though it sounds boring and lame
