A Florida Vacation During Hurricane Season

It began as a chancy vacation
Going to Florida during hurricane season
Yet, we were off on our annual summer adventure
Taking our chances as Hurricane Irene made her approach
To the Florida Keys and the eastern coastline
But be it luck or whatever reason
Hurricane Irene veared north
Missing both Florida and the Keys
Leaving us with warm, sunshiny days
And above all a truly great vacation
