Even Briefly Holding You is Like Heaven

It was so nice to be able to hold you in my arms tonight
Even if it was for just a brief spell while you were reading
Still, it was like a heaven for me just to be able to be close
Feeling you softly breathe and hearing your heart beat
Imagining how it would be to hold you every night
And to have you hold me and want to hold me
Like we used to hold each other
When there was love . . .
And so I pray to God that such times will return
