Searching for lost persons

To make their memories last

Looking for their roots

Looking into their lives

Seeing life from their boots

And the paths they walked

Imagining how they talked

And finding how they link to me

As I search their history

Linking their past to the present

While making sense of their lives

And my life too

Their lives being a present to me
