Each Morning When I Arise

Each morning when I arise to go to work
I pause to gaze reverently on you as you sleep
Then I near silently begin my day
First with shaving and then a shower
After which I usually open the bedroom door
Briefly looking in on you again
As your sleeping body calls out to me
At least in my mind it calls out to me
Beckoning me to silently crawl back into bed
So I can snuggle my naked body up ever so close to you
And then make soft, quiet, passionate love to you
But alas, I can't bear the thought of waking you
So I get dressed ever so quietly
Gaze reverently upon you one more time
Then leave for work with you still on my mind
