The Sanctuary City Fantasy

Life can be tough
Oh, such a pity
There is a quick fix
Its called a Sanctuary City
But even better than that
If you have an imagination
Let's designate our country
As a Sanctuary Nation
Then our worries would go
We would have nothing to fear
As we all lay around
Shooting our drugs of choice
Getting high on medicinal pot
Followed by our favorite beer
Then with political correctness
Feeling all safe and secure
Adding some anti-depressants
We would soon have a cure
Life would no longer be tough
Leaving just ourselves to pity
Living in a fantasy world
That began as a Sanctuary City

The Measure of One's Self

I look at my date of birth
And measure my growing girth
I realize that my age and size
Are really of little worth
To measure my value
And to find what is true
I need to look within
Measuring both vice and virtue
Separating the good from sin
Looking honestly at myself
Trying to see what God does see
I realize I am very small
I haven't been what I could be

Choosing The Winter Vacation

Winter vacations can be so much fun
Playing in the snow and skiing the slopes
Or finding a beach for relaxing in the sun
For skiing I like the mountains and slopes in Utah
Alta, Solitude, Brighton, and Sundance are best
But the beaches of Cancun, Fiji, or Hawaii
Are really great for just taking a rest
And so it goes when planing a vacation
Wondering just which place to go
A sandy beach or a snow covered slope
Collecting sea shells and counting waves
There is certainly no time to mope
So, lets get going on our vacation plans
The ski slopes are so inviting
But walking barefoot on the beach
Especially in Winter, is equally exciting
Yet, there could be another choice
That could be both restful and very fun
And that would be to just stay at home
Making love with my precious honey bun
So, which to choice do I make
For Heaven's sake the choice is easy
It will be my choice each and every time
To spend my vacation time with you
For vacationing with you is what I want to do

A Not So Cold Morning in St. George, Utah

It was a cold morning
But that really depends
As is often said
Location is everything
Which is very true
Especially with weather
Just do a comparison
Cold in San Diego
Is shirtsleeve weather
In places like Alaska
And cold in Alaska
Is absolute freezing
On a Pacific island
So as I think about it
It wasn't a cold morning
On this cold morning
In St. George, Utah

Off to Enjoy the Weekend - To the max

Friday at work
Work nearly done
Time to go home
Time for some fun
Time to take a rest
And just hangout
Maybe read a book
Time to lay back
I have no doubt
So better get going
No time to lose
What will I do
Maybe just cruise
Perhaps go driving
I'll take the top down
In my little Corvette
I will go driving
All over town
Ah, how lucky I am
Such a great life
With so little stress
And not any strife
So off I go
Off to relax
For sure to enjoy
Enjoy to the max

Travel and Special Treasures Found

I've been all around the world
That's how lucky I have been
I should really write a travel book
About all the places I have seen

It would be a book about culture
And about languages and food
About all the peoples of the world
And how our diversity can be good

The book would be of my experiences
And the adventures of my life
Telling about special treasures found
Especially my family and my wife

We have Lots to be Grateful For

If anyone is out there
In this big wide world
This place called earth
That we call our home
Can anyone tell me
Why we are so pathetic
With all of our whining
And constant whimpering
Especially with our lives
And how good life is
I mean, it is really good
If you really look at it
With all we have
All of the good things
Like safety and health
Good friends and family
A roof over our heads
Electrical appliances
Hot and cold water
And flushing toilets
Not forgetting
The country we live in
All in all with all we have
There is lots to be grateful for
