Homecoming Preparations

Up in the morning rising with the sun
Even though it is a day-off for me
And I could still be snoozing in bed . . .
But not today because I have lots to do
Cleaning and dusting and washing
And all sorts of other household chores
In preparation for your welcome home
After taking a well-deserved vacation
And so, with a smile on my face and heart
I whistle a happy tune as I contemplate
Seeing you and holding you and kissing you
Contemplating it all in my minds eye
As I caress our home as if it were you
Lovingly doing the chores in the morning sun
An act of sincere love and a devotion to you
All of which brings a smile to my face and heart
A token of my love for you while we're apart.

Home Is Where the Heart Is

It has been said by poets more eloquent than myself
That home is where the heart is, and I hope that you know that my heart is always with you and so wherever you are is where my home will always be.
And so it is my prayer of prayers that you will have the desire to find a home for your heart with me, even having a fire inside of your heart that will warm our home with a love that fulfills both of our dreams of what a home should be, with our two hearts at home with each other regardless of where we might be. You know, I love you, and my heart and my home will always be with you, and so it goes without saying that for my heart and my home you will always have the key.

Counting Minutes and Seconds

In two more days you'll be home, and in case you think I have been counting the hours, you are wrong! I have been counting every minute and second of each night and day, carrying in my heart a love song while for your safe return I do pray. But what more can I say? Just three simple words: I love you!

Your Voice Makes Me Happy

Your voice sounded so pleasant today
When we talked on the phone
It made my heart happy
Even though I was alone
Just knowing you are safe
And having a good time
Made my heart swell
With a feeling sublime
Because a smile on your face
Along with a happy heart
Calms my sad spirits
When we are apart
And so on days like this
When we talk on the phone
Your voice makes my heart happy
With it's pleasant tone.

Midnight Blogging

Midnight blogging while you are away
My heart is full with so much to say
Missing you so and wanting you near
Meditating the loneliness causes me fear
So I sit at my desk writing to you
Scribbling my thoughts is all I can do
Tired, but can't sleep
To lonely to try
Troubled by thoughts of living alone
Tears trickle like rain as I cry
So I blog on and on and on
Such is my life while you are gone
Memories of you all night and day
Mourning your absence
Midnight blogging while you are away.

Soothing Phone Calls

Just hearing your voice is music to my ears
As your words pluck the strings of my heart
Reaching over the miles the separate us
Soft and caring tones that soothe my soul
As I tenderly hold the phone in a loving way
Closely to my ear pretending you are here
Near and by my side erasing any fears
Reassuring me that you do love me.

What Happens When I Miss You

Falling more in love each day and falling apart
While you are away . . .
I don't know what to do?
And I don't know what to say?
Except that I'm falling apart
While you are away . . .
And still falling more in love with you each day.
So, all that I can do
And all that I can say to you
Is to hurry home
Because I am here
Feeling all lonesome
And wanting you near.
So hurry home
If you can
My dream of all dreams
Is to be your loving man
And have you in my heart
Instead of being apart

While You Are Away . . .

You are off on a trip and it is raining where you are at
And though the sun is shining brightly here
It is raining in my heart because we are apart.
Yes, I am missing you and I don't know quite what to do
Except count the days, hours and minutes until your return
And until then my heart will continue to burn for you.
That what I do when you are away . . .
But what can I say?
You know, I love you and I need you
But most of all I love you.

Waking From a Dream to a Dream

This morning I awoke from a dream and deep sleep
To a dream to beat all dreams . . .
Your moist, warm lips kissing mine
The feeling and sensation
Being fine beyond fine . . .
Then as you wrapped your lithe legs around me
Holding me oh so tight
I returned your kisses with all of my might
While our bodies fused into one
We two making love, sweet love
In the shimmering light of the morning sun
And so began my day
Waking from a dream and a deep sleep
To a dream to beat all dreams . . .
